くどき【口説き】

1 〔懇願〕 entreaty; imploring; earnest begging; 〔くりごと〕 grumbling.

●口説き文句 winning [persuasive] words; words that win sb over; blandishments. [⇒ころしもんく]

2 〔謡曲また浄瑠璃で〕 a spoken (rather than sung) portion of a song [chant]; the words thus spoken; an oral recitation passage.
